Today, the first Miss America of Indian heritage was crowned. Instead of reading all of the negative racist comments on various social media, and angering myself, I'd rather spend my time and energy celebrating her accomplishments, her hard work and effort, and what her trailblazing actions symbolize. She stands on a very strong platform as a highly educated woman of color who wants to promote education and scholarship. I congratulate Nina Davuluri for being bold, standing out, and making a difference. Congratulations and #represent well. This is the kind of change #America needs to accept. This moment is priceless and will, and shall, never be forgotten.

My word of advice to the haters: Let the haters keep hating why she does her thing, makes your money, and gains that knowledge.
Stay positive everyone!
